check_http plugin times out after connect

This forum was archived to /woltlab and is now in read-only mode.
  • Seeing timeouts in my logs and also when I run the command manually.

    '/usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_http' '-I' '10.2.22.10' '-S' '-c' '10' '-p' '8443' '-t' '60' '-u' '/index.html' '-v' '-w' '5'

    SSL initialized

    GET /index.html HTTP/1.0

    User-Agent: check_http/v2.2.1 (nagios-plugins 2.2.1)

    Connection: close

    Accept: */*

    then nothing.

  • NO REAL DATA DISPLAYED HERE.

Question is, does the webmaster need to do something to make his cert trusted or does "user" refer to the http client?

  • http_certificate Optional. Minimum number of days a certificate has to be valid. This parameter explicitly sets the port to 443 and ignores the URL if passed.

I had this directive in my config but was checking the service on port 8443.

  • I needed http_ignore_body = true in my global-services.conf.
check_http was choking on the html body being returned.

    Case closed.
