How to exclude some services from reporting to graphite

  • Hello ,

I can successfully push service results and performance data to remote graphite cluster. My problem is that I don`t want to send all metrics to graphite.

Is it even possible to enable Graphite Carbon Cache Writer only for some particular services?

I know that I can use blacklist/whitelist on graphite side to filter received data, however in case of 20-30k checks it could have unnecessary overhead on network.

  • you should be able to do this with disabling the performance data in the service itself.

Linux is dead, long live Linux

Remember to NEVER EVER use git repositories in a productive environment if you CAN NOT control them

  • Thank Kevin ,

Also I figured out that I can point Icinga2 to local carbon relay with local blacklist/whitelist rules and then relay metrics to remote server.
