Thruk - Unexpected quicksearch behaviour

Our organisation has just moved over to Thruk 2.30-3 from the standard Nagios core 4.3.4-3 web interface and we have noticed that the quicksearch behaves quite differently.

When searching for hosts in the Nagios web interface we were able to type “svruk2*” to list all hosts with names starting with “svruk2” - on Thruk when we perform the same search (svruk2*) the results show all hosts with names starting with “svruk” (Results include “srvuk0”, “svruk1”, “svruk2”, svruk3" etc.

Is there a way to get the same quick search behaviour (or results) in Thruk as we were getting previously in Nagios?

I have looked at setting “use_new_search = 0” in thruk_local.conf and have tried a few different regex options but without any success.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thruk handles everything that looks like a regular expression as regular expression and svruk2* as regular expression means svruk followed by zero or more 2s.
Right now there is no switch to change that behaviour. In fact, the mentioned option use_new_search has been removed.
You could simply remove the * and should get the expected result.

Great that works - thanks!
