[SOLVED] Check_hpasm show error hpasmcli is not installed

#1

Hi !
I tryin to add the check_hpasm module to my icinga2 core.
I follow the documentation https://labs.consol.de/nagios/check_hpasm/index.html
I download and install the plugin with the .tar.gz link
but when I try to execute the plugin in cli to test it I’ve got the following error
/usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_hpasm -v
UNKNOWN - hpasmcli is not installed., System: ‘unknown’, S/N: ‘unknown’, ROM: ‘unknown’
I try to install the hpasmcli package. After some search on internet, I find these tutorial (I’m with centos stable) https:/ /www.centos. org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=55506 & https:/ /nolabnoparty. com/monitorare-i-server-hp-proliant-con-nagios/
When I try to install the following package
sudo yum install hp-health hpssacli hp-snmp-agents hpssa hpssacli hp-smh-templates hpsmh hponcfg
Only hponcfg is find in the HPE-mcp repo (hponcfg.x86_64 0:5.3.0-0)

I want to use remotly with snmpv3
Unfortunately some of the external link of the documentation seems dead.
I miss something ?

Thanks for you help

Looking at the documentation it reads:
The command hpasmcli (from the hpasm.rpm package)

#3

the official mcp repo doesn’t provide these packages https://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/repo/mcp/centos/7.5Server/x86_64/current/

Looking at the check_hpasm plugin you’ll find some links which might help.

I find it on the hp doc :

The Linux Management Component Pack provides agent software for use on community-supported distributions. For RedHat and SUSE distributions, please use the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP)

We need to use the SPP repo, not the MCP
I add the repo and yum update and

sudo yum install hp-health hpssacli hp-snmp-agents hpssa hpssacli hp-smh-templates hpsmh hponcfg
