Remote instance not connected throws host down

Hi
I run a remote instance of icinga, and a couple of ICMP checks executed on this remote instance.
Sometimes, the remote instance on AWS is not reachable.
In this case a got the correct host down of this particular Host/instance. But i got also a Host down on all Hosts checked on this remote instance. The “Down” Message tell me “Host down, because remote instance is not connected with icinga”

I made a dependency group like this:

apply Dependency "aws_remote_host" to Host {
   parent_host_name = "aws.domain.com"
   states = [ Up ]
   disable_checks = true
   disable_notifications = true
   ignore_soft_states = false
   assign where host.vars.client_endpoint == "aws01.domain.com"
}

In my eyes, the remote checked Hosts should go to UNKNOWN state instead of DOWN. Right?
Is this a timing issue with check Intervals?

Thank you very much! … Maybe this is a old 1000-times asked question. Sorry for this case!

BR Adrian

Hello

I hope that the parent and the apply definitions difference is a typo, otherwise this won’t work.

Hi
Yes, you’re right, it is a typo!

apply Dependency "aws_remote_host" to Host {
   parent_host_name = "aws01.domain.com"
   states = [ Up ]
   disable_checks = true
   disable_notifications = true
   ignore_soft_states = false
   assign where host.vars.client_endpoint == "aws01.domain.com"
}

For some reason, i can not edit and correct my 1st post
