Node wizard not working

Hi there,

I’m a Icinga2 and Linux noob. But I want to learn new stuff and so I take over the monitoring in our company from my predecessor.

To this point everything is working fine.
But now I want to setup the first Linux Server into the monitoring and running into problems.

When running node wizard (with sudo also) it stops with following error message

Add more master/satellite endpoints? [y/N]: n
critical/cli: chown() failed with error code 1, “Operation not permitted”
critical/SSL: Error while opening private RSA key file ‘/var/lib/icinga2/certs//LINUX_SERVER_FQDN.key’: 33558541, “error:0200100D:system library:fopen:Permission denied”
critical/cli: Failed to create new self-signed certificate for CN ‘LINUX_SERVER_FQDN’. Please try again.

Versions:

  • @client: 2.11.3-1
  • @master: 2.11.2-1

I would really appreciate if anyone could advise me the next steps. I’m a bit lost with that.

have a nice day
regards
Jens

Hello
It is odd that you are getting this error with the sudo permissions.
Are you running on a CentOS or any other RedHat derivative, if so can you make sure that the SELinux is disabled ?

Can you capture the entire run of the node wizard process and paste it here ?
