HPE Aruba 5406 zl2 and check_nwc_health

check_nwc_health
#1

Hi,

I want to check the Hardware health of some new HPE Aruba 5406 zl2 Switches with check_nwc_health, but it seems taght we get bad results. Per Default each call Returns with OK state:

./check_nwc_health --hostname --communiry --mode hardware-health

this Returns:

OK - environmental Hardware working fine

Looks good so far, isn’t it?

But when I try to use verbose mode:

./check_nwc_health --hostname --communiry --mode hardware-health --verbose

I get this Output:

Checking sensors
Sensor 1 (Chassis Sensor) is not present

that’s all…a little bit disappointing…

Question: what did I wrong?
Has anybody monitored HPE Aruba 5406 Switches with check_nwc_health?
Do I have to provide MIB files somewhere…?

Best

Benedikt

OK…seems to be that HPE changed the MIB#s in Firmware > 16.x
Have to do it in a different way…

I can try to find a solution. (if HP did not remove the hardware oids at all)
Can you run
check_nwc_health … --mode walk | bash
and mail me the resulting file to gerhard.lausser@consol.de?

OK, here you can find the snmp oids for the current Aruba / HPE Switches. First test Shows that this oids work with fixed port (Aruba 2920) as well as with modular Switches (5406zl2)
