Disable checks during downtime

I would like to prevent my master from triggering active checks on hosts/services that are affected by a fixed downtime.

I feel like this should be possible using an apply rule, but I always struggle to write them. Can I somehow pull the time period information of a dynamically created downtime (through the api) as the source for the period argument of a dependency object?

If you really want to stop running checks than you shold have a look at dependency with which you could disable e.g. the host or a desired service is down. If it is enough to stop notification you can simply schedule downtimes including all service checks.

Yes I know. I already have an apply rule to disable checks for when the host is down. This is about disabling the checks during scheduled downtime. I couldn’t figure out to how to create a dependency like:

if service has active scheduled downtime -> disable active check.
