Check_vmware_esx times out after update

Hi,
After updating OMD from 3.10 to 3.20 and patching Debian from 9.8 (not 100% sure) to 9.11 check_vmware_esx times out. I tried several things and got a little progress - connecting to vSphere works again, but the plugin countinues to time-out.

  • Update VMWare Perl SDK from 6.0 to 6.5 ( /usr/lib/vmware-vcli/apps/general/connect.pl --server … works )

  • Downgrade perl version broke it again

  • Clone check_vmware_esx from git (with Modules) gives me following errors:
    ~/local/lib/monitoring-plugins/check_vmware_esx.pl -H 123.123.123.123 -u ‘abc’ -p ‘xxx’ --select=cpu
Possible precedence issue with control flow operator at /omd/sites/monitoring/local/lib/perl5/lib/perl5/VMware/VICommon.pm line 2332.
“my” variable $store masks earlier declaration in same scope at /omd/sites/monitoring/opt/check_vmware_esx/modules/datastore_volumes_info.pm line 32.
    UNKNOWN: Script timed out.

  • Using the Version that comes witj OMD 3.20 brings

    /omd/sites/monitoring/lib/monitoring-plugins/check_vmware_esx H 123.123.123.123 -u ‘abc’ -p ‘xxx’ --select=cpu
Possible precedence issue with control flow operator at /omd/sites/monitoring/local/lib/perl5/lib/perl5/VMware/VICommon.pm line 2332.
    UNKNOWN: Script timed out.

Do you have any hints for me?

Oliver
