Apache error log - massive amount of logs

(tom) #1

Hi,

today I upgraded our environment from 2.20 to 2.24. From the GUI it looks fine, but when I was looking to the logfiles I noticed that in the /var/log/apache2/error.log a massive amount of logs were created and still running.

These logs look like this:

TT bp_details.tt:
cnt percent clk user sys cuser csys template
1 0 % 0 0.00 0.00 0.00 0.00 extra_headers.tt

I noticed that the logs were generated every time a user changes a view on the webpage of Thruk or the automatic refresh occurs.

Does anybody has an idea where the logs come from and how to debug it?

Many thanks.

looks like there are some debug options active, which can be activated by the environment variable THRUK_PERFORMANCE_DEBUG or THRUK_VERBOSE, they should not be set during normal operation.

I don’t know why but after I set THRUK_PERFORMANCE_DEBUG=1 and THRUK_VERBOSE=1 into /etc/default/thruk and a restart of the system, the error.log from apache2 looks fine.

Many thanks again for your help.

actually you should not have to set them at all or if you do, set them to 0.
