CHECK_NRPE: Socket timeout after 10 seconds.

  • Hi guys,

returning to question about check_timeout in service definition.

In my some case I have icinga2 (version: r2.4.1-1). When I add check_timeout I get

    error:

    ...

    information/ConfigItem: Committing config items

    information/ApiListener: My API identity: daletdasboard.local

critical/config: Error: Attribute 'check_timeout' does not exist.

    Location: in /etc/icinga2/conf.d/DEV-ILYA_services.conf: 505:2-505:19

    /etc/icinga2/conf.d/DEV-ILYA_services.conf(503): check_command = "nrpe"

    /etc/icinga2/conf.d/DEV-ILYA_services.conf(504): check_interval = 1m

    /etc/icinga2/conf.d/DEV-ILYA_services.conf(505): check_timeout = 60

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    /etc/icinga2/conf.d/DEV-ILYA_services.conf(506): host_name = "DEV-ILYA"

    /etc/icinga2/conf.d/DEV-ILYA_services.conf(507): max_check_attempts = 2

Afraid that I can't upgrade icinga2 there. Is there a way out?

  • 2.4.1 is way too old and does not have the check_timeout attribute. This was added in 2.6 iirc.

Upgrade to the current supported 2.7.x tree.
