mysql plugin auth

  • Hello,

I use check_mysql_query and some others for mysql but all required the account in plaintext.
The only ones that work with the new mysql_config_editor are the plugins from percona (but there is no one for query).

With check_mysql_query i use extra-opts to get accounts from a file but it's not encrypted.

Is there a way to use encrypted passwords with some mysql plugins for queries ?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

In the same question, does anynone know if it's possible to store the queries ina file instead of parsing it in the command ?

    Thanks

  • Haven't seen a possibility that this would work. One option might be to use check_mysql_health instead and pass the passwords via ENV variables. That way they are not visible inside the ps output for other users.
