    If you don't like to put away your daemon into foreground, you can go for the API event streams as an alternative - that way you're just attaching to a check result flow and won't harm the core from running when pressing CRTL+C later on.

    Still the same as always. backup, read the release announcement and changelog, perform an upgrade, check for ido database updates. bonus: have a staging/test environment before putting it into prod.

    Does it work without ido? Maybe the order in which the modules are loaded does matter. Also if you want to build a high-performance monitoring, you should carefully consider if you really need the ido utils, because they slow down icinga drastically.
